A month-by-month guide to weather, crowds and the desert at its most beautiful.
Wadi Rum is a year-round destination, but the experience changes dramatically with the seasons. Here's when to come for the trip you have in mind.
Spring (March – May) — the sweet spot
Warm days, cool nights and the desert at its most photogenic. This is peak season for a reason; book early.
Autumn (September – November)
Our favourite shoulder season — comfortable temperatures, clear skies and fewer crowds than spring.
Winter (December – February)
Crisp, dramatic and quiet. Days are pleasant; nights are cold — but every tent is heated, and the stargazing is extraordinary.
Summer (June – August)
Hot by day but dry, with unforgettable sunsets. Early-morning and after-dark activities make the most of it, and the domes stay cool.
