An unforgettable two-day stay
I had an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable two-day stay here. All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was amazing — the grilled lamb chops were incredible. In the evenings there was a cozy party where we gathered around the fire, enjoyed tea and admired the stars. We also joined a full-day jeep tour, and our guide Ahmed was fantastic. I even celebrated my birthday here and they surprised me with so many thoughtful gestures.

We do not know other accommodations in the area, but it is not necessary — I would return here a thousand times. As soon as we arrived they arranged the jeep tour, and the included dinner felt like a feast. At night they set up a small campfire for us to make tea over the fire, and served it by starlight. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has amenities we haven't seen in high-category hotels. Thank you for everything!

This is the place to go for a unique, beautiful experience you will not get anywhere else. The views make it feel like you are on a different planet and the food is very good with cultural and traditional dishes. I will never experience a place like this again.

An incredible couple of days
An incredible couple of days in the beautiful Wadi Rum. The shell we stayed in was comfortable and spacious with amazing views of the desert and mountains, especially at sunrise and sunset. The best part was the hospitality — Ammar and his team cooked us a private dinner on our final night followed by tea by the open fire under the stars. We also went out for a jeep tour with Ahmed. Shukran to everyone at Shell!

I recently stayed at Shell and had a nice experience. The rooms are spacious and nicely designed, with modern furniture. The dinner buffet is quite impressive — the food is delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from.

Stayed here for 2 days — one of the best camps to stay at in Wadi Rum. Great service, food and rooms. The only con is that I didn't stay more!
It was a great experience at Shell camp. Great service especially by Youssef. Amazing vibes, beautiful weather, nice and clean rooms. They also do live shows at night, so it's suitable for both families and groups of friends. Definitely recommend it.

Shell Luxury Camp is an idyllic oasis set against an otherwise harsh desert landscape. Waking up to sunrise right outside the camp is genuinely breathtaking. The cosy “shell” accommodation delivers a true five-star experience.

How do I get to the camp?
We're about an hour from Aqaba and 90 minutes from Petra. Once you book, we arrange a meeting point at the Wadi Rum visitor centre and bring you into camp by 4×4 — and we can organise private transfers from Aqaba, Petra or Amman. Transfers are arranged on request and charged separately.
What's included in the price?
Every stay includes breakfast, a traditional Bedouin dinner, welcome tea and Wi-Fi. Taxes and service of 7% are added to the rate, and the Wadi Rum protected-area entry fee is paid separately. Transfers and experiences like jeep tours and camel rides can be added to any booking.
What are your rates, and when is high season?
Rates start at 120 JOD per night in low season and 150 JOD in high season for a Shell Tent — see each tent page for its own rates. High season runs March to November, plus 25 December to 5 January. We're open all year, and booking direct with us is always at least 10% below the booking sites.
Do children stay free?
Children up to 9 years old stay free of charge. Children aged 10 to 12 are 25 JOD per night. An extra adult bed, where the tent allows one, is 40 JOD per night.
Are the tents heated / air-conditioned?
Yes. All of our shell tents, bubble domes and triple tents are climate-controlled with both heating and air-conditioning, plus en-suite bathrooms with hot water — comfortable in every season.
Is it suitable for families and children?
Absolutely. Our Shell Triple Tent sleeps three and is designed for families, and experiences like camel rides and stargazing are wonderful for children.
What is your cancellation policy?
Most dates offer free cancellation up to a set period before arrival. The exact terms for your dates are shown before you confirm your booking and repeated in your confirmation email.
Do you cater to dietary needs?
Yes — our kitchen accommodates halal, vegetarian and most dietary requirements. Let us know in advance and we'll take care of it.
