What to pack for a weekend at Shell
Less than you think, and warmer than you'd guess. A short list for two nights between the dunes and the tide.

The coast keeps its own weather. Bright afternoons turn to cool, clear nights, and the wind off the water has opinions. Pack for both and you'll never think about it again.
The short version
You need very little here. The suites are warm, the fire is lit by dusk, and dinner is come-as-you-are. Bring layers, something for your feet on the boardwalk, and leave room in the bag for the walk back to the car being slower than the walk in.
- A warm layer for the evenings — the temperature drops once the sun is down.
- Flat shoes for the dune paths and the boardwalk to the shore.
- A swimsuit, spring or autumn included; the copper tub is warmed nightly.
- A book you've been meaning to finish.
What you can leave at home
A hairdryer, a travel kettle, a phone charger you're worried about — all of it is in the suite. There's no dress code at dinner and no reason to bring one. Reception is patchy on purpose; we find most guests stop reaching for their phones by the second morning.
The best-packed bag we've seen arrived with a jumper, a swimsuit, and a novel. They stayed four nights.
Come as you are. The dunes don't mind.
